+ McDonald's +

I went to McDonald's because I wanted to make sure whether the taste was the same in Japan or not (the result is the same) and the logo is interesting. I think that all of the visitors are surprised when they saw the logo of McDonald's Canada because it has a maple leaf in the centre! Generally, companies don't like to change their own logo. I always feel Canadian style when I see the logo. If Japanese McDonald's adapted to the rising sun (Japanese flag) in the centre of the logo, I would feel a little bit strange. It is interesting the difference between Canada and Japan how people think about their identity.

By the way, the spelling of "McDonald's" is too difficult for me.
Doesn't it require "a" the next to M?
    Is "D" a capital?
What? Do I have to write a "s" at the end?
Oh, no, it isn't plural but it has apostrophe s.

I think that most Japanese can not write "McDonald's" correctly even though they always eat McDonald's hamburgers. But they never would have a trouble if they couldn't write spelling of "McDonald's" in Japan, eh!

+ English Presentation +

I did a presentation at the English school. The theme was Sign Language. I have many wonderful Deaf friends and I always want to tell just only one thing "Deaf people can do anything but hear". When I got the chance to do a presentation, I decided on the theme without a second thoght. The English presentation was a little bit hard for me but I did do my best. I thought that my presentation was a success. I will upload my presentation to my web page soon (soon? one day, some day, in the near future).

(* I uploaded web edition on [Sign] page.)

+ What Happened? +

My bicycle was stolen! I locked my bicycle between the front wheel and the parking bar. After the English class, I went back to the parking area and saw an unbelievable sight. There was only the front wheel which was locked to the parking bar. It took a little bit of time to understand what had happened. The thieves unscrewed the front wheel and stole the body of my bicycle! I couldn't believe it. Why did they steal my bicycle? I was so sad. There was no feeling of anger only sadness. I thought that I should throw out of my Japanese sense of security. The police told me that they would call to me if they found my bicycle. But I thought that my bicycle would never come back to me.

Anyway, how should I treat my unicycle?

+ On Time +

I was invited to my friend's birthday party. I heard that the party would start from 5 pm. Of course, I went to her house at 5 pm. You know, there are no guests and she was still preparing the party. When I entered her room, I thought that I misunderstood the party time. Most of the guests came between 5:30 and 6 pm. A Japanese friend who was one of the guests told me that all of her Japanese friends and she had the same experience. Japanese tend to come on time even though it was a private party. I didn't know that it is better to arrive late in case of such private parties in Canada. When I asked about this sort of punctuality to my Canadian friend, he told me that it is a big problem for him also. I should learn more about the Canadian style.
