Thank you for giving me the opportunity to present (about a topic that is close to my heart). First of all, I would like to explain why I am so interested in Sign Language.
When I was a student, I was interested in Internet chat, which is a web system that enables us to communicate in writing on the web page. There are a variety of chat rooms on the internet. One day, I found an interesting chat page for Japanese Deaf people. I made a lot of friends who are Deaf and Hearing on that page. Because we used written communication, it was not important whether the members were Deaf or not. One day, we organized an off line party to meet members in the real world. At this party, I met a very pretty Deaf woman. Yes! I decided to master Sign Language in order to communicate with her. My Sign Language skills improved very quickly! After three years, I passed the city wide Sign Language interpreter examination. This was an amazing accomplishment for such a short time of study. (I wish my English were the same!) This is why I am interested in Sign Language and I have been a Sign Language interpreter in Japan for five years.
OK, now I will start my presentation.
What's that?
You want to know more about my love story? OK. I will tell you. I wanted to confess my feelings to her in Sign Language not in writing because I respected her language. But when I started to learn Sign Language, of course my ability was limited. I was a little bit shy and had a big head. I wanted to show her how much I respect Sign Language. So, I decided to tell her that I loved her after passing the Sign Language interpreter examination. Three years was a very short time to become an interpreter, but it was a long time for love. After I passed the examination, I celebrated her wedding... It was too late. What an idiot I was!
